A custom WordPress website that Grace Bangla Language Center's own staff have run for years, for a school that teaches Bangla to foreigners living in Dhaka. The site carries the school's own identity, explains the courses and teaching method before a newcomer's first call, and lets the staff change every page, notice and event themselves. The project closed with video tutorials instead of a support contract.

## The Full Story

A small school, a site it owns completely, and years without needing a developer.

### A school that should not need a developer

Grace Bangla Language Center teaches Bangla to foreigners who have made Bangladesh their home, people working for companies and NGOs who need the language for daily life and for work. A school like this wins students on trust, and its website is often the first place a newcomer checks. It cannot afford a developer every time a course, a notice or a photo changes.

The brief was a site that looks like the school and that the school's own staff can run entirely.

### A site that looks like the school

A custom WordPress theme gives Grace Bangla its own design rather than a template. The home page opens on a real photograph of the school's students and teachers, carries its yellow and blue identity, and puts one clear button into the teaching method. For a newcomer choosing where to learn the language of the city they live in, a school that looks established is a school they call.

### Courses and method explained before the first call

The courses page lays out the basic course in three parts: reading and writing Bangla, its grammar, and the everyday conversation a newcomer needs for hiring transport, shopping and talking with Bangladeshi families. The methodology page answers the practical questions next: discussion and practice in every lesson, small classes, two hours a day, five days a week, and a certificate at the end. A prospective student arrives at the first call already knowing what they will learn, so fewer of the school's calls are spent explaining the basics.

### Everything editable by the staff

Pages, the home page slider, blog posts and images all live in the WordPress admin, with image editing built in, alongside a custom event system, so the staff change the site themselves the same day something changes. The slider carries the school's own notices, such as free transport and free wifi for students.

### Found on a phone, in a new city

Most newcomers look for a school on their phone, often in their first weeks in the country. The site works cleanly at phone width, from the welcome page to the courses and the teaching method, with search a tap away.

### Years without a retainer

The project closed with video tutorials instead of a support contract, and the school has run the site alone ever since. Longevity without a retainer is the quietest possible five-star review, and it is the principle behind every handover in this portfolio: clients end up owning what they paid for.
